What Zipline Vegas Actually Buys You

Zipline Vegas is not a guided day out with a meeting point, a group and someone talking you through what you are seeing. It is a ticket to FLY LINQ, a zipline strung above the LINQ Promenade in the middle of the Las Vegas Strip, and the ticket buys a fast-track pass rather than a planned experience. There is no itinerary and no commentary along the way.

The inclusion list has exactly one line on it, a FLY LINQ fast-track ticket, and that is deliberate rather than thin. FLY LINQ sells the ride itself as the product, so a ticket here means a shorter route to the front of the queue and nothing bundled around it. Anything else that shows up on the day, a photo or a video of the crossing, is a separate purchase made on site once you have landed.

That makes it an easy thing to add to a day already spent on the Strip rather than a trip that has to be planned around. There is no drive out of the city and no half day set aside for it, just a walk to the promenade and a queue to join once you get there.

Finding FLY LINQ on the Strip

FLY LINQ runs above the LINQ Promenade, an open-air walkway of shops and bars on the east side of the Las Vegas Strip. The promenade is the address that matters here. FLY LINQ has no separate entrance of its own. It is built directly over the walkway, so reaching the promenade and reaching the ride are the same walk.

The easiest landmark is the High Roller, the observation wheel that stands at the far end of the promenade. Spot the wheel from the Strip and you have effectively spotted the promenade too, since it marks one end of the exact stretch FLY LINQ is strung above. Head towards it and the shops, bars and the zipline structure above them come into view together.

Once you are on the promenade itself, look up rather than around for a sign at street level. The launch platform and the cables sit above the shopfronts, visible as a shape in the sky well before any ground-level signage would point you to it.

What Fast Track Actually Means

Fast track is the entire product here, so it is worth being precise about what it buys. FLY LINQ runs a general queue for the line, and the ticket moves you into a shorter route to the front of it. It is not a different ride and not a different harness, only a different way of reaching the launch platform.

How long that shorter route takes on any given visit depends on how busy the promenade is and how many other fast-track tickets are moving through it at the same time as yours. A quiet afternoon and a quiet queue will always move faster than a packed one, and neither is something a ticket can change on its own.

What the ticket does fix is your place in that shorter route rather than the general one. Once you are in it, the process afterwards is the same for every rider in it, fast track or not: harness fitting, a briefing, and the launch platform, in that order.

Who Can Ride, and Who Cannot

FLY LINQ sets a minimum height of 100 cm, about 3 ft 3 in. That is unusual. Most height restrictions on rides are a maximum, not a floor, and this one runs the other way. The limit is a height rather than an age, so it is worth checking a child against the figure directly.

There is also a maximum weight of 136 kg. Both figures are worth checking against everyone in the group before joining the queue, rather than finding out at the platform.

Unaccompanied minors are not allowed on FLY LINQ. A minor has to ride with an adult, so at least one adult in the group needs to be at the platform whenever a minor is riding.

Getting Harnessed and Sent Across

The process starts the same way for everyone, fitted into a harness and briefed on what happens next, in English. From there, riders go across the line in one of two positions, seated upright with the harness taking your weight from above, or face down and flat, arms forward, in the position most people call superhero. Both are used regularly. The gallery of past riders shows each position in use on the same stretch of line.

Which position you end up in is not spelled out on the ticket in advance, so it is worth asking about when you book if the answer would change your plans. Seated keeps the promenade and the shopfronts in view the whole way across. Face down puts the ground directly beneath you instead of to the side, with the air coming straight at you rather than past your shoulders.

Either way, the crossing takes you out over the promenade deck itself, the shops, the bars and the people walking beneath you, with the High Roller standing at the far end as the fixed point in the view the whole time.

What Is Not Included, and the Booking Terms

A souvenir photo and video of the crossing are not included in the ticket. Both can be bought on site once you have landed, so decide on the day rather than assuming either comes with the ride.

A cancellation policy applies to this booking. It is worth reading the terms at the point of booking, before you buy, so a change of plan does not come as a surprise later.

None of that changes what the ticket is actually for: fast-track entry to FLY LINQ, above the LINQ Promenade, for a rider who meets the height and weight limits and is not an unaccompanied minor.
